HALLOWEEN DAY

In English class, 2nd Bilingual students celebrated Halloween day last 31st October drawing and describing a monster they felt identified with , using parts of the body and adjectives studied in English class the previous days.Students drew the monster at home and also they did the description; in class they practiced oral expression reading their descriptions. The rest of students listened carefully and asked curious questions about the monsters

In non-lingüistic subjects studied in 2nd ESO, history and citicenship, students celebrated Halloween too:

In history students learned the history and origin of this festivity, watching a video and later doing a kahoot where the students enjoyed at the same time they learned a lot about this celebration.

In citicenship students made some presentations in groups showing the different countries where Halloween is celebrated and the different ways to commemorate this festivity.

CREATING MONSTERS FOR HALLOWEEN

This year we have celebrated Halloween in a different way, for that reason our students from 1ºD worked a lot in order to create and describe monsters for Halloween week.

They first drew a monster in a piece of paper, then practiced the oral production describing their monster and finally recorded their speaking. In this way, they improved not only the speaking skill of the English language, but also their abilities in art, as well as their knowledge in new technologies.

The main aim of this activity has been to develop skills related to areas such as: working in a group, building social relationships, learning about the culture and traditions in English speaking countries, improving competences related to Information and Communication Technology and developing language skills with relation to speaking and listening.

We hope all of you like this presentation.

TERRIFYING ZOOMBIES-DANCE SHOW

 IN THE IES FUENTE RONIEL

Another Halloween has come and gone... and our 4th ESO students from the Bilingual Section of IES Fuente Roniel have celebrated it with a TERRIFYING zoombies-dance show.

This interdisciplinary activity has been carried out by the English, P.E. and History Departments (and the help of Teachers Sonia Conejo, Teresa Sánchez and Ángela López).

Thank you very much to all of our students for researching the origins of Halloween, for performing the dialogues they have previously invented and, above all, for expressing themselves, and their interest in this tradition, through dance.

Happy Halloween!!

The students of the bilingual section (2ºESO) have been working on pollution giving solutions and reflecting on the consequences. Here you can see some proposals. The main objectives were to make them be aware of the necessity of protecting the planet and use the English language as a means of expressing their ideas.
